Weird CPS2 fix attempt

Hi guys, I'm looking at the underside of a CPS2 A board with some work done on it which I don't understand:

As far as I can tell the board works but for one thing: P1 B2 isn't working which isn't shocking at all considering the trace to JAMMA 23 is cut. Does anyone know what this was trying to achieve? Can I break something really bad by reverting it?

EDIT: Was it trying to fix P1 B2 not working? Was it trying to adapt to a broken JAMMA plug through replacing kick-harness buttons?

ugh... that's not a repair. they're remapping buttons 4 and 2 off of the JAMMA edge to the kick connector.

looks like they've also shaved down the side of the Edge Connector too

Surprising to no one probably reverting this fixed B2 not working, now to install CPS2 Digital
