My System 16 board is experiencing a strange issue. When I adjust the volume pot to any more than half, the sounds disappear and are replaced by a loud screeching sound and the screen goes black. I'm not sure if it's losing sync or if it's just shutting down, as I don't have an oscilloscope to see what's going on. The only way to get it to boot back up after powering down is to turn the pot back down and then power back up. What could be the cause of this issue? The power supply is brand new, made by Meanwell (and bought from an authorized distributor) with nearly identical (better, actually) specs as a SuzoHapp Power Pro power supply. All voltages check out. Would a failing potentiometer and/or failing amp chip cause this?
