Hello,

I've just picked up 2x WMMT3 machines from a hotel nearby. I only paid £50 for the both!

I've got both with power on and they don't seem to boot. The screens come on but show no signal. Looking at the NS2, the HDD boots and I can feel the platters spinning. I guessed the GPU was the issue and when I have a look at the capacitors, a few have blown the lid. I read elsewhere that the GPU, USB and HDD are all matched so I'm assuming I can't just change the GPU over for a new one. Is this correct? I so, has anyone successfully replaced the caps on these?

Many thanks in advance.

Great find , capacitors can be replaced or make a full recapping for the motherboard and check the film strip if it has no damage or mold in it , but if you gonna buy a es2 motherboard set with the updated wmmt 3dx+ it would be cool to put it in your machine

Thats a good idea actually, the updated version looks so much better!

From what I've understood the GPU has a special firmware on it, so you can't just slap any replacement in place, but you should be able to copy the firmware over to a similar card.

As for USB and HDD, that might be true.

Can that be done with a normal bios chip flasher? I luckily have one of those.

The earlier recommendation of replacing the capacitors is within my means too. I think I'll try and repair the GPUs but I can also try and flash the firmware no problem.

Mmmmmm spicy!
