Hello, I got my X2 running the 2.0 multi and it runs great, the only issue is that my system seems to restart randomly after about 30 mins of being powered on. I have tried swapping ram to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

Update: I have ruled out the possibility of it being ram or the hard drive. Instead I tried using normal JVS and the system runs 100% normal, no reboots at all. I found another post (https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/a-freeware-taito-typex2-multigame.820/page-135#post-294949) which has my exact same issue, where there would be random restarts should the RFID reader be disconnected. I unfortunately don't have an X2 reader so this might the reason this is occuring?

I just tested on another X2 I have, seems the same thing happens, is it something to do with the hard drive image?

Seems like it might be? Arr you using the exact same drive on both? Which image are you using, and how did you write it to disk?

Yep using the exact same drive for both, using the complete image from Niko, wrote it with HDD Copy.

So far, I've been unable to reproduce the issue.

When you mentioned swapping RAM, are you swapping RAM with brand new sticks or between your X2 units? Also, can you confirm you have at least 1GB of RAM?

I have been swapping ram with both unused sticks I have and other used ones, and the issue persists, I am running 2 GB, and before that I was putting single 1 gb sticks in.

I'll also time how long the restart takes just to make sure its consistant and such

I have confirmed that this only occurs with the Fast IO, using JVS I've left the machine on for 1 and a half hours+ with no restarts. @Niko what Fast IO are you using and is there any way to see logs on when the system restarts and for what reason?

Its odd that I'm unable to reproduce the issue.

The restart would only be happening for one of two reasons,

1.) A hardware issue with the system ( PSU, RAM, Motherboard Capacitors, Heat, etc. )
2.) The watchdog in the internal JVS I/O board is rebooting the system, usually when some type of unhandled JVS error occurs.

In both of your cases ( using JVS I/O or Fast I/O without an RFID connected ) the RFID reader is being emulated when playing Nesica games. So its odd that it only happens when using Fast I/O.

Can you test with a non Nesica game ( like BlazBlue CT ) using Fast I/O and see if the reboot happens?

Sounds good, I have people over today so I'l test later tonight.

One thing to note as well is this happens on the game selection screen as well, before I even go into a game if I leave the menu running it will eventually restart as well with the fast IO.

Sorry for the late reply, tested blazblue ct amd the restart still occurs. Had it running all day yesterday for people with normal IO with no issues. Very confusing...

Thanks for the update.

You had mentioned in a PM that you tested with two X2 units and the issue happened with both. Did each X2 have its own dedicated iDMAC card? Or where you swapping the iDMAC between the two units?

I have 3 boards, 1 of them is the original board of the iDMAC card which I'm pretty sure is one of the 2 giving the issues. The 3rd board doesnt work at all right now. Are the iDMAC cards linked to the original motherboards?

I only have 1 iDMAC card

Sounds like the JVS card reader is not reachable *reboot feature* of the TTX3. You aren't using a TTX3 dmac card by any chance are you?

Nope, I am using a TTX2 card that came from a nesica x live 1 TTX2 motherboard

Update on the situation, I ended up finding an X2 Nesica Reader and hooking it up to the X2 with the multi running, Unfortunately I am now having issues even launching the games with the FAST IO and Card Reader connected. Only game I was able to launch in with my testing is USFIV and it gave me error 0203 (IO Initialization Error). The multi itself detects both my FAST IO and Nesica Reader in the settings screen. I'm unsure what I should be looking for next (dipswitches on the FAST IO or JVS card?). Thanks

UPDATE: I'm stupid I hooked up the fast IO in the slave IO port, works fine now, testing the board with reader connected and...
