Also the uvc is hard to find nowadays
The vast majority of the world is no longer interested in adapting 31khz into 15khz.
In fact it's just the opposite today, we are seeing a rise in the number of devices intended to upsample 15khz to 31khz (or higher).
If you want the best, UVC is the best... Yes you are late to the party, so things are going to be harder for you.
No one ever promised owning 30+ year old display technology wouldn't be without its problems.
You know I never really explored the downsample abilities of the iScan DVDO, it might be able to provide something nice.
The problem with the DVDO is how huge it is and how hard that size is to fit inside a cab along side a game PCB...
It also has its own wacky power requirements (something like 9.5v) so it can't be fed directly (+5v/+12v) from a JAMMA harness like the UVC can.
Even if the DVDO gave you a nice quality 15khz image, you'd still have the issue of arcade monitors want 1vpp TTL level RGBs, not 0.4vpp 75ohm (SCART) levels.
Would also require boosting/amping the signal from the DVDO before it hits the monitor.
a little bit of DIY is okay for me, but I think this will be too much
You could say that twice and still not know the half of it.
