Anyone know much about this system? Namco System 10. Just boots to a red screen. Can I just buy another system 10 main PCB and swap the boards over?

Yes, Namco System 10 Mobos are generic so you can just swap the ROM board and IO board to a good working mobo.

So I got my hands on another system 10 pcb, swapped the rom board over, and it’s experiencing the same issues. Swapped the rom (Gekitoride) board over to the old mainboard and it works perfectly fine. I’m assuming the issue is with the rom board.

sounds like it. I would check for any trace damage or cold pins, especially on the custom. There's really not much to go wrong on those ROM boards just ROMs and the custom security chip and I've never heard of one of those going bad, that just leave some kind of physical damage.

if it's like sys11/12 then the "custom" is really a PLD.
and when PLD's fail they often get burning hot.

These aren't like system 11/12 the security on these is different and still uncracked.

Almost 2 year bump. Still haven’t found a replacement PCB or anyone who repairs these.

unless you can identify some physical damage to the PCB then there are two possible failures
1. the Custom - If this is dead no one on the planet can help you, the only fix is to get another chip from a working Gunbalina, so it'd be pointless to pull that chip from another board
2. the ROMs - only way to know if this is the issue is to pull them all off and dump them, fixing may be either impossible or ugly depending on the type of ROM.

I'd say there is a much higher probability of the custom being dead than the ROMs but hard to say.

Anyone that has a ROM programmer and can do SMD rework could test for #2 but it would probably cost you more than the board is worth especially given the uncertainty of a successful repair.
