What's new
For Sale
If anyone cares, here's a little update on KC, looks like he has finally gotten a new place and has resumed operations. He said it ended up working out better for him, got 3 larger warehouses to work out of now. So he is ramping up his business. He might be opening up a warehouse on the east coast as well.
awesome news, thanks for the update!

Awesome. East coast warehouse hopefully means cheaper shipping to the east coast.

Currently I'm okay with cabs, but you never know what the future brings.

cool....news.. bring it close to me:).. dealing with KC.. he is a straight upfront person. I just had bad luck when I was trying to purchase the Vewlix and he encountered the warehouse issue. Frankly, when I heard the issue, I thought of the worse and asked for a refund, which he did. I am glad to see that all worked out for him.

Yup, I worried for a few seconds, but decided to give the guy a chance. If for some reason things didnt work out, and I did not get a refund or the cab, KC, myself, a few friends, and a couple of shovels had a trip planned out to the desert to work things out.

Any one recently check KC for what hes got in Astro, Blast, and/or new net city? You think its better to wait till April be for trying KC for a Cab or two?

I've followed y'all's vewlix pick up now im getting antsy X/

@derick : what kind of condition where the two blast city in when you got them? I Remember you looking for new side art at one time.

I dont think he has much right now in the line of Blast cabs. He does have New Net Citys last time I checked.

I did tell him to get me a Blast and New Astro in as near mint condition as possible, he told me he got them and should be here in his April delivery. Lets see how that goes.

The 2 blast cabs I got from Ken from TheGameRoom.com. Ken is great guy, easy to deal with, but like many have said, his cabs always have something wrong with them, but then again these are old used cabs. I just wish he would do more in the sense of cleaning and repairing little issues that should not be up to the buyer to do since he sort of adversities his cabs as ready to play, at least to me.

If you can, get your cabs from KC, he is straight up and does not hide details from you.

thanks, Im on the west coast. So La is only like 1,100 miles Vs. the 2,700 for you guys on the east. probably best to put my self in queue with KC if i can.

Like you, I can wait for a nice looking cab.

I made space for 3 or 4 cabs. Ideally for long term, i've been thinking a (15/24 kHz), (15/24/31 kHz), and a (31 Khz). just haven't decide what model of each. Other than the obvious of course. :whistling:

Cool! Please update us when the time comes

been thinking a (15/24 kHz), (15/24/31 kHz), and a (31 Khz)
I say get yourself 2 15k's and a 31k.
Don't even think about 24k support, almost nothing uses it.

Even when you do find the occasional board that supports medium rez, 9 out of 10 it has a dipswitch to also do 15k.

Side note about 24k... If anyone wants a Well Gardner 27" (JPN29") medium rez (24khz) CRT I've got one with a fully rebuilt chassis (caps, flyback, new neckboard) for free (local pickup only)!

it would be good to be at a place where you can actually see the cabs and see if you like then.. When I was at Magfest I had a chance to see astro, net, new net city etc..they had a good selection.. I honesty do not like how they look.. I like the Egreet 2,3 and Ashtonishwave looks.. But again that is personal preference. For the 31khz Ashtonishwave would be what I would get and have someone convert it for JVS.

i just listed the monitor compatibility spread between the 3 cab i was thinking. didn't want to used Cab names. Saying "I'm looking for a NAC" is almost silly nowadays. :whistling: "hey Mission Failed, get in line.. punk." being reductive aside..

i was thinking (long term, best case)

NNC in Tate (Nanao MS9)

BlastCity for 6 button fighter and naomi (Nanao MS2930/31)

Naomi Universal for 31k (Nanao MS-2932-S)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Im not too partial to the idea of a blast. two 15ks and a 31k as you guys recommends sounds more functional with best picture.
thought a BC and NU would be cool for 2x Naomi play. but that would be such a rear occasion.

that's a good recommendation.
Egrets are super nice they just sell within hours and i read owners complain about finding replacement parts can be expensive over a Sega.

i agree about the a aesthetics. personally in the home : having soft curved lines against a white wall looks less aggressive than the hard sharp lines. home Arcade feng shui

the Bast citys and the NNC are pretty aggressive looking Cab to me.

My adviced, get what you want even if you have to wait in line.. You do not want to end up with something that you do not like as much... It took me a very long time to get Greets II but that is what I wanted and the wait paid off. You will have people that for one reason or another will be selling their previous toys.. Me for example, if my girl tells me that we are expecting another child, all my toys will be for sale.

That's probably why I like them. NNC are my favorite cab design followed closely by the Blast.

Egret II/III don't look good to me at all, but I do like the ease of monitor rotation on the IIs.

Egret Is look cool as hell, especially with the full marquee holder in place. But, I'd imagine they'd be difficult to find in good condition/complete at this point.

I agree that you should wait to get what you want and not settle for something else. I've almost always regretted when I bought something other than what I really wanted. Then again there are a few machines that I want that I've been waiting years for them to pop up so...

Silly question, anyone ever try building a monitor rotating mechanism similar to the E2s on another cab, like a Blast or an Astro? I just think someone out there must have tried and probably failed.

I've seen dozens of custom screen rotation setups for CRTs on BYOAC.

the specific mechanism design that the E2s use requires a lot of hefty metal work. So if you were going to replicate it you'd either need a heavy duty metal brake, or the ability to cut and weld.

here's someone who replicated it in an AW cab: http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?t=16557&start=40
