Taito Type X2 Darius Burst No Sound

I had the same problem with my setup and I was able to find a solution but it is very strange and requires you to sacrifice player 1 controls. With the system set up and turned on, music will play if you hold left on player one joystick. It sounds strange but for my setup, with the P1 joystick...

DARKSOFT How to convert a Xbox PCB to repair Chihiro

Just wondering if you could use some chip quick and remove the extra ram and other surface mounted components over to a working Xbox board. That might be easier with no programming necessary.

Ridge Racer 5 Motor Error Dongle Patch

I read a brief article once somewhere that mentioned someone successfully patching the dongle to where it will skip the FF test but I couldn't come across it again. As I'm typing this, I see another person on a different site talking about how a file located in the "START" file seems to be...

Thanks for the message. I've replied to your DM. It took some work but I was able to figure out all of the pinouts and get the board running 100% If possible though, it would be awesome if you could post the pinouts here or online somewhere for others who may need to get their boards running...

Taito Operation Tiger : Some Pinout Information / PCB Pictures

I have revised the video pinouts in the description. Although red was showing up, I had green and red reversed on the video board. Flipping them gave me back the colors. The game still has corrupt graphics but looks much better. Pictures below.

Taito Operation Tiger : Some Pinout Information / PCB Pictures

A story about a Tiger. After taking quite a bit of time looking on the net for some information regarding Taito's Operation Tiger, I soon came up empty handed so I decided to make this post to hopefully help out others. This is one of those boards you don't see a lot of, but on top of that...

Taito AquaJack Z Hardware D/A Converter Sub Pcb (Pictures/Pinouts/Reproduction) Needed

I've been going over an obscure game you dont see a lot of (aside from MAME) and that is Taito's AquaJack. The thing about this board is that I cant seem to find the inputs for the joystick controls. The game may require a "D/A Convertor" ? as it is written in the schematics to control the X...

    F-Zero AX Wheel Project

You can handle the pitch by using an analog joystick (like a replacement one from a PS1 controller) and mount it to the steering wheel. Using your left thumb, you can control the pitch. I've wired this up on my own setup to use F-Zero AX

    M-72 R-type repair

If you have some good clear pictures of the board (especially the motherboard top & bottom) that will help. Please post them here. The M72 hardware issue could be as simple as the ribbon cables not being securely making contact, bent pins on the bottom of the motherboard or a cut trace. Upload...

Trackball wiring Sega's 834-6180-01 I/O I wanted to add to this thread including the trackball pinouts for the Sega 834-6180. I recently decided to make a Sega Sonic The Hedgehog arcade game and had some fun looking on the net for the pins so I decided to make up some pictures here that will...

Best way to revive Crypt Killer w/ bad hard drive? - SOLVED

Nice work! This would be a great option for others who have / will have dead drives in the future. Have you considered making these as replacement kits and selling them? You could get a few buyers for sure. Just a thought.

Crisis Zone + 246 games IR led replacement tests - Work in progress

I'm going to take a guess and say it really comes down to the JST and other connectors used with some of these I/O boards which is why people go for the premade wire harnesses. For some people, getting those end bits and making the connections is a p.i.t.a. Hell, even I've been known to solder...
