cps 3 board/ 3rd strike is now showing a black screen.

I had a CPS3 recently that would only give me a black screen on boot but would play blind (SIMMs were already loaded and using a Darksoft superBIOS cart). The board had been in storage for about a year, but I knew it was working beforehand. It took me a second to figure out it was playing blind...

[Taito Type X2] Flashing a GeForce 7900 with Elsa 979 BIOS

Wanted to thank Niko on this thread, it helped me get a couple of video cards modified to work on a TTX2. Now we have Darius Burst back up and running! My experience, if it can help others: - I had a PNY 7900GS 256m (10DE,0292,196E,0429) that flashed peachy with Nikos thumb drive freedos image...

    Blast City Speaker Replacement

I was converting a component TV to use in a cab and when parting it out I noticed the speakers in the set looked like a good match. The speaker on the right in the pic is from the TV, next to a ghetto re-foam of an original Blast speaker. I did have to cut off the excess metal used to mount in...

    Blast City Speaker Replacement

I've been down this speaker replacement path before(pretty sure I posted about my experience earlier). I ended up attempting to re-foam the surrounds with a sheet of foam from a craft store and some tacky glue. It's a cheap solution to eliminate the "farting" from blown Blast speakers. You loose...

    MS8 with diagonal lines scrolling

I have a MS8 in a Madonna and it had some diagonal line interference...turned out to be a ground wire(earth) that was connected to the replacement PSU. Dunno if it's gonna harm the CRT over time, but at least the pic was clear now that I unhooked it.

    Blast City Speaker Alternatives

I've been hunting a replacements for years but I ended up just re-foaming the surrounds. I could not get a thin enough material to allow the cone to move freely, so a lot of bass is gone but at least they do not "fart" anymore.

    System 246 Help

Power issues have been a constant issue I had to deal with with System 2x6, double check your volts. It may be a dumb questions, but how long are you waiting for the drive to be active? I know it takes 15-30 seconds for the mobo to allow control to eject the drive (I assume you are using access...

DARKSOFT Darius Gaiden EXTRA: Missing Background Layer on Zone D

I was waiting for someone else to chime in with the zone D bkdg gfx issue, glad it's not just me. A very minor problem so I was just gonna live with it. Hopefully with more folks playing through Extra, we can find other problems to help narrow down the issue (just like prior post).

    Incoming influx of System 357/359/369

Preach it brother...I'd even settle for an off-line 4p linkup PS3 setup. From what I hear, most 357/69 software still requires to be online to authorize<?> through the Namco servers. I'm sure it'll be hacked but it might be til after Versus 4 gets released :)

    Gundam 4p

I assume you mean the 1st model Sega I/O's. I agree, Cap I/O's are too much, like $200 vs $40 you can get a Sega one. But be sure to look for revision B...I've had odd issues with button 6 on the "A" ones. "don't need to run games in a cab." does not make sense to me...translation error...

    Gundam 4p

Personally I'd stay away from using the Cap I/O power and wire the 2x6 directly to the cab's power or even just run a separate PSU. I've had issues with 2x6 and Naomi's not getting enough power from it. As for a cable, I think you'd need the JVS Namco power adaptor, then get a male-male JVS...

    SYSTEM 246 (TEF3 Namco Model A) - A power HUNGRY beast!!

Are you checking voltage at the power molex on the 2X6 or directly on the PSU? Is it using a I/O board that feeds the 2X6 power or is it a JVS setup? I've had my share of power needs from 2x6's, it seems to me if the power drops during play, it'll lock up/freeze very easily. I've had to crank my...

NAMCO 246 - Soul Calibur 3 Arcade - Tried everything... can it be fixed?

Did you get into the mem card/controller port section? I've had a 246 that the ribbon cable that connected the ports to the mobo got loose inside...but the boot beeps told me to check that section. Are you getting the normal 6 or 7 beeps when you power on? As you prolly know, the drive does not...

FS WTT: SF2 Grand Master Challenge for US Super Turbo

There is a trick to enable freeplay on JP boards if you have a US ST. If you mount the US ST, then set it to freeplay, then remove the US board and replace it with a JP ST, it retains freeplay. I've done this before, but you have to keep the A and B boards together and never swap games or you'll...

FS PC: Blast City CP 2 player 12 button

Fair? Well, what did you pay for it? I've seen River Service panels go for $100(unpopulated) but having Sega Blast arts would make it more desirable. Personally , I'd go $50-80 on panels, but I'm a cheap skate.

Shipping from Japan - Seamail - has anyone used this?

Yeah, it just takes forever. Like mentioned above, expect 2-3 months. If I'm buying something larger (say multiple System 2x6's), I'll do it just for $ savings. It's 15+ year old hardware...what's a few more months. I hate it when I need to sign for it when it arrives and I'm not home. I've had...
