I'm unsure if this is the exact problem. Long story short it worked before I moved it, it worked when I turned it on the first time after being moved, now when I turn it on its a jumpy mess every time, here is a video of the issue https://streamable.com/3my0me

Again it worked perfectly, turned it off for a day then the next day does this

Cold solder joints are common. If you have an MS8-29, there are H and V hold pots on the remote board as well as on the main board. Both should be checked. If the monitor has never been pulled to do basic preventative service, then it would be wise to do that now.

There's no sync. I would check continuity on the sync pin between the jamma harness and the 15-pin AMP UP connector.

Unsure if I'm doing it wrong but there is no continuity

That's the wrong 15-pin connector. The one you want is on the left hand side of the monitor. I suggest you take you off the monitor shroud if you haven't already, it will help immensely.

Ooooohhh alright I know the port your talking about I'll give it a try

So the problem was the jamma harness not the actual monitor. I did the continuity check and there was no issues between the jamma harness and the 15 plug connector. But when I accidentally poked the jamma harness while it was on it fixed the issue meaning the sync connector must be touching something when literally poking it. Temp fix position the harness in a way nothing is interfering, long term solution buy a whole new jamma for the astro
