I'm looking for any help I can get, I recently bought a MVS game lot and in it was Last Blade 2. The status of the games were unknown and upon opening it looks like some soda or something may have been spilled in the game previously. So far I have done the following
  1. wiped contacts with 99% isopropyl alcohol, the game would start, sound would be fine, graphics corrupted
  2. scrubbed the whole cart with 99% isopropyl alcohol with a toothbrush, same result
  3. wiped down the contacts with deoxit, same result
  4. applied deoxit and then used a fiberglass pen to remove some gunk from contacts, same result
I have tried multiple slots in my 4 slot and same result, other games work just fine. the chips on the cart look fine, the rom test came back "OK" for all roms and the boards match MVS Scans.
Is there something I am missing? Anything else I should try or at this point should I just move on?

Not sure if it's of any relevance and hard to tell as I'm on my phone but what's going on in this area

Thanks for checking!
I opened it back up and looked, I think there was just a piece of fuzz from the qtip on it, I cleaned it with a toothbrush and I think it looks fine
I think perhaps there are two cold solder joints? I circled those in the other photo
This is my first adventure in troubleshooting so I'm not entirely sure what to look for with cold joints

So the game runs now but only graphics are bad ? Can you show a pic of the actual game running ?
It should be related only to the CHA board, since sound and program are fine.

Yep!
I created a folder with the video of it playing, figured a video would be more helpful than pictures.
The music and sound effects sound fine and the text that appears during the attract and menus look good too.
The weird graphical issues when startup only occurs when this game is the only game in the board, previously I had baseball stars 2 in the first slot and this in the second and didn't have any weird startup graphical issues

oh so it does crash after a while, so the PROG board might have something too

Got it, so there could be multiple problems then.
If multiple chips could be bad what is the CRC test for? I was hoping since that came back ok it was just dirty contacts but that no longer seems to be the case

Because both the Fix layer and Crom data are messed up, it would point to a bad NEO-273.

Thanks @XianXi!
I found online that you can buy replacement 273s so I suppose its time to order one and either find someone that does surface mount soldering or attempt it myself (never done surface mount before)

since you have UNIBIOS, turn on your MVS while pressing ABC.
select gamecart crc check and wait the result

ROM REGION is P1
ROM REGION 1,2,3 are P2 content.

i bet you have problems with P1, because P2 problems drops "BANK ERROR" as red text in the screen.

forgot to mention: toshiba masks sucks. i repaired tons of mvs carts where toshiba roms are always the faulty ones.

oh sh... recently saw your video and graphics are bad.
a good idea is moving C roms ot another CHA512Y and see what happens. (kof97 is a excellent donor).

if not, please check continuity on:
j7 j8 j9 j10 j11
this little beans tells the board that you are using 64m C roms. if jumpers shorter, then glitches appear.
if all jumpers are ok, cross your fingers for a faulty NEO-273. this one is replaceable.
and then, cross your fingers again,
in the worst case, you just can have only one broken C rom per bus. (buses are 1,3,5 and 2,4,6)
