Honestly, the characters and the background aren't half bad. With some manual editing I think it would look fine.

I have a few of the parts for the US kit and most of the JP kit. I can't scan as I don't have a big scanner but I can take photos and maybe they will help
I don't know if you still need this but I feel like you could rebuild this from the side art or even frame scratch cuz its not a very hard design
