Had an odd one here... "Voltage drops from 5.1 to 3.5v when plugged in.
Well, no short was found. Board booted to a white screen that faded to black and back to white. Let it sit for a minute while checking the board with the thermal camera and it suddenly made noise making me just about jump out of my shorts. Looked over the board with a jeweler's loupe to see cracked solder joints on many customs along with about a half dozen pins sprinkled around with almost zero solder on them. Yuck. This is going to take a while.
Reflowed the 74 chip at F9, the 52 chip at H16, and the 52 chip at H18. Board still had the white screen, but would show outlines of characters when fading out and a red Start when starting a game. Making progress.
Checked the RAM attached to the 153 and signals looked OK.
Reflowed the 153 at M4 and one side of the 99 chip at L8. Fired it up and played a game.
