Fixing crack on Astro Cab

Any ideas and/or suggestions on how to fix this crack? I was thinking of using some steel putty and apply it from inside the panel.

I've got 4 Astros, they all have that crack. People sit on the control panel. :/

To be more specific about my proposed solution, I wanted to apply an epoxy to seal the crack.
