Just got the MP01-IONA-JS JVS today. I've thought I could use this device to replace CAPCOM JVS I/O but it does not work out of the box.
Hooking it up to TTX2 inside my cab, none of the buttons registered. Push TEST button ---> screen shows I/O Error.
Upgrading the firmware to newer version might perhaps solve the issue but then I have to invest into ATMege32 programmer or something like that... the firmware should be upgraded to the latest version by default. It's a bit let down for me and I think it's a waste of money

Hold TEST button and power on IONA JVS.
I've tried that. Hold TEST button + power on ---> wait until the game boots into main screen, release TEST button ---> I/O Error appears on screen
