I ordered "20 AMD 27C400 EPROMs" and received 16x Hitachi HN27C4000G-10, 2x Hitachi HN27C4000G, and 2x ST MX27C4100... Did OK on the lot and they came blanked. It did take some work to get all the paint off though.
Overall, was a good buy, but not happy with the remarking. I don't care if chips are pulls as long as they work. Remarking has one major issue: you don't know for sure if the algorithm you use to program the chip is the proper one. Will it work? Will it be too short and give you a weak bit set?
Anyway, Superman has his missing ROM replaced and is back to 100% working order.
