House of the Dead 1 - sound scratchy

I just received a House of the Dead 1 arcade but there is an issue with the sound. There is a ton of this scratchy sound coming through. Any idea how I might fix this? Thank you!

I replaced the sound amp and it’s working great now.

Do you still have the old one? I'd be interested in it. I've been documenting and repairing Sega components lately and haven't actually gotten to an official Sega amp yet.
