Yes, the 9 pin version requires components in the SCART cable. The 8 pin version doesn't.
+1 for the goats answer.
8 pin is standard XRGB pinout
(straight through, no resistors or caps in the cable required, sync and r, g, b are already attenuated on the Minigun.)
9 pin is standard Megadrive 2 pinout
red , green and blue are NOT attenuated on the Minigun, will need to be attenuated with resistor and capacitor in the scart shell. ensure the sync jumper is set to 75 ohm on the Minigun itself

So this means 220uF and 75 ohms for R, G and B and 220uF for sync, right?

Oh, and 180 ohms for SCART pin 16 of course.

Hi, I am having problems outputting video to through my Din-9 on the Minigun. It used to work fine with all the cables I have to several boards but now I get no signal. is there a way to check for shorts on the din-9 and what is the pinout?

Last thing that I know that could have damaged it was that I mixed around, by accident, the +5v and ground going to the minigun. But it didn't even turn on and no sparks or any burning seems present.

Everything else works fine except for the video. I haven't tested audio, so will check that once I get back home.

The pinout corresponds to the Genesis 2 pinout, but C-Sync and Composite (pin 4 and 5) are interconnected and mono (pin 6) isn't connected.

Where can I get the ths7374 chip from? Seen some listings on eBay but not sure if those are the same.

Today I've tested the Miniun Supergun (v2.5 miniDIN9-Version) of a friend of mine with my LCD TV. I've used an unmodified Neo Geo MV1-FZ.

With a direct connection between MVS, Supergun and TV (via SCART) I get a picture but with the OSSC interconnected I get no picuture and the OSSC says "no sync", no matter if I set the sync jumper to 75 ohms or to TTL.

The scart lead has a 470 ohms resistor and a 220uF capacitor in the sync line and the OSSC has the standard settings.

So how can I get a picture via OSSC?

EDIT: I've solved the problem! According to the Wiki page I had to set Hsync Tolerance to 8.30us and H-PLL Post-Coast to 2 lines in the Sync OPT. of the OSSC.

Now everything works.

I just got an Atomiswave, and I get a video signal with my Minigun on a PVM, but I'm not getting inputs with my USB2DB15 adapters. The LEDs on the USB2DB15 don't even come on. I've tried it with all dips on and off. The voltage has been as high as 5.08 when I first turn it on. Cleaning the JAMMA pins didn't help, and I've tested a different board in between Atomiswave attempts and the USB2DB15s still worked fine with it.

I didn't understand well where the issue comes from, PCB, minigun or USB2DB15. Try to do isolated tests for each one and see what happens.

That's the plan, thanks. Just wanted to make sure there weren't any known compatibility issues before I did, but I'll do some more debugging.

Hello,

I just acquired an OSSC. With my Neogeo AES I have no issue at all. With my MVS (consolized), I have No SYNC like you. However after applying the same settings as mentioned in Wiki (8,30us and 2 lines for Post Coast), I still have the same issue.

I'm wondering if the OSSC will work on ALL MVS models...

Best regards.

hey ! i own 2 minigun supergun and i have the same issue on both : I only get 1.6V between U D L R and ground when powered on. All other buttons do get proper 5V .
Having only 1.6V is causing issues for certain pcbs (strikers 1945, atomiswave) : U D L R are detected as always on.

is there something i can do about it ? is it normal?

U D L R do get 5V on my candy Cab and i dont have issues with those PCBS

thx !

The Atomiswave and Minigun work fine with a Neo Geo CD DB15 pad. It's just the USB2DB15 adapters that I can't get to work with the AW. I've tried several different arcade sticks (Qanba Drones, Brook Retro Board). The USB2DB15s still work with other games like CPS2. I've heard about ZD7 on the AW blowing and affecting inputs, but mine looks fine from what I can tell, and inputs work with the Neo Geo pad.
