Hi everyone. I got a new cab and a big new project. Daytona 2: Battle On The Edge.

This is a bit more of a refresh than a restoration. But I wanted a place to document my journey with this new machine.

I got this cab for a great price and it is in fantastic condition. Very minor stress cracks around the seat bolts. The monitor looks like it was never degaussed, but it's bright, has no burn, and has great geometry.

The wheel, pedals, view controls, shifter, speakers, and everything else is working perfectly.

It is, however, missing the coin key. I'll try to source one that fits, but I might have to drill it. Hoping I can find a key.

Getting this to my house was quite the chore. The gentlemen I bought it from had it on a second floor, up a curved staircase. He bought it new and it hadn't moved in over 17 years. It's been family owned and in this house the entire time.

For anyone who hasn't moved one of these... they are HEAVY. Really heavy!

Between the stairs and the weight, I had to make it as light as possible while making sure I'm not going to destroy any parts of the cab, or this gentlemen's house (which he just sold).

This is the cleanest tube chassis I have ever seen (apart from the ones I've cleaned).

The seat is MUCH heavier than a real racing seat.

I got a U-Haul van because of the rubbery floor. I took one of the levelers down from the base so it wouldn't roll around. And I used cords to fasten most everything else in place. Nothing moved in transit.

What a hot mess. I'm going to be cleaning each part as I go. There are some scuffs and cracks in the corners of the MDF which I want to fix.

A driving cab was something I've wanted this entire time. The space and struggle to get it here was insane, but this is an experience I don't really find a replica of with any other setup. I can't wait to get this all fixed up better than new.

There's just one problem :

- you're going to need AT LEAST another one !

Amazing get. Related to game and condition.
Hope to see more pictures during your restoration :)

I'm not sure what there is to restore? It looks immaculate.

Nice find!

Finally got to spend some time cleaning up the Daytona 2.

This cab came in great shape, but it's a bit dirty, and the monitor needs to be preemptively serviced.

Lots of dust and grime. Seems like some dirty feet were occasionally on the pedals.

Did Alicia wire this up? Thanks Alicia.

A bit dusty in here, but nothing looks too bad.

And that's it for now. Much cleaner and partially back together.

Next up I'll recap the monitor chassis, install the sharpness kit, and get it fully back together.

Awesome find man, and congratulations that is one fun bad ass game.

I remember moving the deluxe version and it took 4 people and taking apart too, it was the one with full moving car and 50" monitor. I loved that thing!!! Man I miss 2014. I should of never sold my stuff lol
