I've seen a semi-multi on the Namco Sys1 hardware, but it was one kit for vertical oriented games and one for horizontal.

A Sys 1 Multi and a Sys 2 Multi would be awesome, some great games on both. Hardware is excellent for the date, Stereo sound, sprite scaling etc.
