Picked up this magnificent beauty today!

It's badged as a JVC BM-H2000PN which is identical to the Panasonic BM1990Y / JVC BM-H1900PN / Panasonic BM2090Y.

Sold as "untested" which I assume means "carefully tested and found to be faulty".
Build quality is superb, much better than any of my Sony PVM's, but not quite up there with the Sony BVM's.

In theory it should be a really nice retro monitor - 240p 750TL, full geometry controls in the service menu, and

Will do some basic checks, fire it up, and see what happens

Yes, from one of those e-waste recycling places. It was actually a really fun visit. Price was extremely low so I'm not expecting too much :)

Had a good look around inside then powered on and to my enormous surprise it seems to work perfectly.
My only source of test patterns was a Dreamcast running composite so the colors were a bit wonky, but I’ll get some RGB sources in there tomorrow and see how it looks then. Can’t believe it…

Here we are running the ever popular CPS2 colour bar pattern in RGBS.

I was worried that the tube was a bit tired, but the wonky colours were just my crappy composite cable. Tube is actually fresh as a daisy.

Being 750 TVL it has thicc scanlines. The dot trio makes an interesting change for me over the slot mask in all my Sonys. I think I like it.

Focus needs a bit of work but otherwise good.

Only other thing is a tick which makes the picture jump. I thought this might be a bad flyback, but can’t see any sparks, starting to suspect the big filter cap that sits between the HOT and flyback.
