What's new
Mine is locked too
Hmm, that’s a bummer :( maybe you should still be able to add a windows 10 boot drive and it should work. Once I figure out the JVS part, I will try my best to share it with you guys.

Also make sure to check your RAM and Graphics card as a faulty part could have tripped the bitlocker/TPM.

i'll try it with pre-instaled win10 in my SSD. Hope it will work.

I have confirmed that the problem is on the hard drive. sometime it give Blue Screen.
VGA Card, RAM already tested with other ES3 and it's all good

Doing some progress peeps! I will do a bit of a long write up and will try to play it safe as I don’t want to get this thread locked up. As always, this is just a proof of concept. Operation “Reviving a dead ES3 with new parts” is a near success!!! :D

For anyone wondering what PSU both the ES1 and ES3 use, it’s the exact same 300 watt slim server power supply! Pretty neat! I still have my old ES1 case and I plan on turning into a secondary T7 system for multiplayer use. It’s smaller than the ES3 but almost look identical. I have checked if the JVS H039 ESIF PCB works with the ES3 and it does! The screw holes won’t line up though as the ES3 ESIF2 pcb has been elongated. Both use identical parts anyway.

Well, I have been doing some more messing around with my own system and I forgot that I had some AMD RX460 graphics card drivers installed. I wanted to see if I could get the game to boot with an AMD card as I have heard that AMD cards caused issues. I did install the card to my system and it worked fine. Pretty neat!

Best part was the price of this card, it only cost me $50, requires no hooked up power as it gets it powered up from the PCI-E slot. I also saw no graphical differences and performance was the same. I’m not sure but I think the RX460 is more powerful than the GTX760? I might be wrong though. I guess as long as the correct drivers are installed and Direct X11 is up to date, the game will run.

DISCLAIMER: I did modify my system so I’m not sure if this would work on a stock ES3!

Hello again everyone! I was able to get another GTX760 from eBay for $16 and got it today. Just wanted to do some test with a different GTX760 and note any differences I saw. Well, the card I bought was manufactured by PNY (it’s an enthusiast edition card) and has a slightly different BIOS revision from the stock NVIDIA/ES3 card. One of the noticeable differences I saw right away was a splash screen with the “new” card. The stock ES3 one doesn’t display a splash screen. Also, the graphics looked a bit more sharper and performance is a whole lot better with the new card compared to the old one. Not sure if it’s due to the original card being broken or what? I also noticed that the dithering was almost completely gone with the PNY card. The old card had more noticeable dithering which I thought was a bit odd. Unfortunately I don’t have a stock ES3 to see how the graphics originally looked but looking at a friend’s livestream with him using original ES3 hardware, the image looked as sharp as the PNY card. I guess the stock card still has some issues. I also didn’t change any settings at all. The machine also runs a lot cooler with the PNY card than the stock one. Interesting.

Tbh, this is the first time I have ever messed with PC hardware in general. I have always been a console gamer and my video editing PC is literally a DELL OPTIPLEX 7010 lol! All this stuff is pretty new to me and it’s extremely interesting.

Also, if anyone has a stock unmodified ES3, I will literally trade my extra T6BL Namco System 357 for it. :)

Here are some high resolution snapshots from the rebuilt hardware. Looks awesome!
Sadly couldn’t upload them to the full resolution here but this still looks great!

Well, just a bit of an update on this project, I did find an old stock C7B75 SuperMicro motherboard, it should be arriving soon and I’ll replace the current one with this one. This motherboard is the exact same one used in the ES3, without the security stuff though. I want to see if there was any performance difference and I just want to keep my system as stock looking as possible.

I was also giving the graphics settings for the Nvidia control panel. The exact same settings used for the Taito Type X3 multi and the games not only look great, they run so much smoothly now! I also put back the original stock GTX760. I got to thank a few people for helping me out! I will keep you guys anonymous but I think you know who you are! :D

One last update, this will probably be my last post regarding my fixed ES3, I feel like this project has been going on far too long and I’m basically done with it. I’m fully satisfied as well. I’m also very happy that JVS works fine and im again, not using emulators. :)

Well, thanks to my great friend @EYEDOL, I was able to setup a netgear router for all the Tekken 7 games with his help. It works! Heck, I’m using the practice mode version of Vanilla T7 and CPU battle is now enabled! Very happy and I will definitely be rebuilding my ES1 as a replacement ES3 machine for LAN multiplayer!

Edit: added more pictures :)

Does using cross cable on a cat6 lan cable to two es1/es3 and apply the ip address , will it work without the router?

No, you need a router, at least that is what I have been told. Not sure if crossover cable would work but I also don’t have one. As for the IP address, you need to modify your router’s LAN IP address on a web browser. You luckily don’t need internet access for this step.

ES1 AND ES3 system cant setup IP address by normaly,so must be have 1 DHCP server(router or have this protocal layer 2 switch)set it automatic。

Oh that's not really good massages for me, I just recently joined this channel and saw this awesome post of yours and would like to keep talking with you.

My friends have JVS+JAMMA switch card ,it's can support JVS JAMMA to PC setup as joystick,if you use pc to arcade use it easily。
I will post pictures to this.

Hi! Thank you for liking my post! Unfortunately I do have to end this project as I’m basically done. I just wanted to show that it is possible to play the original games using a new motherboard replacement while keeping the original JVS communication board. I will of course not be sharing files or anything of that matter here (at least, not publicly). You can still message me privately if you want to continue talking with me so we don’t clutter this thread :)

But as is, This project has been a complete success and my last post will be posted when I finally received the new motherboard replacement.

That’s the easy way out, as always, I like to challenge myself and wanted to use the original ESIF2 JVS communication pcb. My second goal of the project was to not use JVS emulation. :)

Last update and perhaps the biggest for me. I finally received the old stock C7B75 motherboard, it arrived much earlier than expected but I’m happy. So I replaced the current motherboard with this one. I put back the old i5-3550s, the 8GB of RAM, and the GTX 760. Luckily the i5 CPU still works.

Then I popped my SSD and it did sort of work, just had to reinstall the Realtek audio drivers. Luckily both motherboards have the same audio chipset. After that, now everything works completely fine. Games runs really smoothly as well.

Now, the only reason I changed the motherboard to a stock C7B75 mobo was because I wanted my system to look as authentic/stock as possible. Plus, I found the replacement for cheap, for some reason, it’s almost a $300 motherboard.

As for what I’m going to do with the other motherboard, well, that mobo is going into the ES1 case. So far, it fits fine! That’s a project that I’ll complete soon as well. Just need a 24pin ATX power extension cable.

Anyway, huge thanks to all the people who helped me and all of you my fellow friends! I call this project complete! :)

It works lol! The ES1 lives again as a ES3 clone! Just need new RAM and a HDD, then. I had to use the AMD RX460 as it was the only GPU I had that would fit in this small case and the only one I had laying around. Still plays the games pretty well though.

Hi dude,ES1 box smaller than ES3?You can find NVIDIA 1060(3G) install it,performance very well.I have 1 ES3 change it,running 1080P (tekken r2)full effect 60 fps.

ES1 ES3 is essentially a standard PC, and the difference from a PC is the I/O part and the TPM encryption part. The arcade app blocked mouse and keyboard, keep only the dongle and joystick.
My ES3 cabinet board was thrown away by me to eat ashes, waiting for the need to use it later.
