Hi! :)

Not having a 27C800 ;(, I would like to know if we can use a 27C160 or other ?

Thanks :thumbup:

27C160 = 16 Megabit
27C800 = 8 Megabit

I don’t know if anyone has tried it but I expect a 27C160 would work as long as you double-up the BIOS ROM before you flash it.

copy /b modbios.bin+modbios.bin 2Xmodbios.bin

Hi! :)

aje_fr replied to me on Neo Arcadia it works :thumbup:

Since it was me who made the dump, I can answer you :saint: ,You program your 27c160 with the software, lift leg 42 and put it on the ground. Then you plug it in and follow the procedure.

Nice! Did you double the BIOS ROM file or flash it to the 27C160 as-is? Just curious in case someone else asks later. :thumbsup:

I am almost certain I have done it with a doubled file on a 160 but if you burn the file once then lifting and grounding the highest address line is certainly safer.

Could check the pin, if it is held high or low by default, then doubling the file to a 160 would be safe. If it's floating at the socket then play it safe and ground the address line of the chip if you don't have a 27c800.
