So I have some of these in TSOP form for various programmers, but I can't figure out what they're actually called. Not the whole adapter, just the spring-loaded socket.

I've found slightly more janky sockets in this package, but not the spring-loaded one.

It would save me a mountain of time to buy one of these in SSOP70 and slap it on a breadboard or rig up something simple in KiCAD.

Offt they are pricey if you buy your standard programmer adaptors xeltek/dataman etc

El cheapo, not fancy though uses a cap to hold the IC down

this one has some locking tabs

Yeah, I saw the pricey programmer adapters. Unfortunately none of the programmers I have or the ones you can buy the adapter for support the chip! So even if I shelled out I'd be removing the socket to put in another home made board. :(

I have the ones with the cap en route but had really been hoping to snag the other style since it works so well with tsop chips.

Will grab the locking tabs model. Thank you for the link.
