Anyone own a Sigma AV5000?

I own two of them, and the adjustment pots (CBC & Bright) are terrible. If you bump the control box or the table it is on even slightly, everything comes out of adjustment. It really, really sucks.

Is this common, or did I just end up with two bunk units? Anyone know of a fix?

Nah, the pots are crap with a low rating plus over time the carbon wears out and so does the wiper. You can just replace them.

Thanks for the info, XianXi. I'll try to desolder them tomorrow or Monday and see if I can figure out some direct replacements.

Do you have any recommendations for a superior pot to use for this application?

Best would be a higher wattage linear one but it would be easier to fit a direct replacement. Hopefully there isn't something loose in your supergun.
