Just bought an M72 multi and realized it would not work with the only M72 game I have, R-Type (JP PCB). I am interested in buying any M72 board you have that will work with the multi:

Air Duel
Battle Chopper
Dragon Breed
Gallop: Armed Police Unit
Hammerin' Harry
Image Fight
Legend Of Hero Tonma
Ninja Spirit
X-Multiply

If it will lower the price I don't need the original ROMs. I am willing to trade my Japanese R-Type (with built in sound amp) if that is something you're interested in.

good luck with this boss. I had to do the same thing, and wound up having to sell the Rtype to fund the other M72 board from ebay, and it was not cheap.

I hope you can find a good one, for a reasonable price, and enjoy the hell out of your multi

Yeah I don't really browse the forums too often and when I saw there was an M72 multi I jumped at it without really reading the fine print, then later while going through the threads saw R-Type wasn't supported. I will probably end up having to sell the r-type to fund it as well

I'd be looking at spending a bare minimum of 550 for one of the compatible m72 boards, and that's if you're really lucky.

Yeah I am looking to pay up to $800 or so, it's a lot but selling the R-Type will soften that blow considerably.

I thought @Apocalypse said it "could" be made to work with ANY M72, BUT using something like R-Type would require desoldering/massive rework.

Good luck. I did the same thing with Gunforce for the future M92 multi. And then again with Cuebrick single board for my Gradius 2 conversion.

Your best option will be probably be to buy an M84 Hammerin Harry for @Hammy 's future M-84 multi as he was able to get almost the entire m72 Library working.

I see them on ebay pop up every now and again for $350-500. I would avoid m-81 HH board but he commented that it may be useable as well? I don't remember.

Nothing seems special about the other top board it just uses a fair lot of parts.
Repro the top board with sample support and it will run on the R type setup.

In true English style, Expect heavy delays ... there's not much left to do tho ;)

Of course. I would hope “future multi” would imply a bit of time.

Awesome news on the progress though

Seems very high, isn't it? Last time I checked (6 months ago) it was a ~$120 board from MAK and ~$130 from tops.
If they become that expensive it lowers the benefit by a lot since you have to desolder all mask ROMs and install sockets for the M84 multi.

Yeah...I paid 100$ for mine locally. Was gonna sell it off...glad I didn't.

I have an M72 X-Multiply for sale and it is mint, trouble is that it is a full kit, includes Instruction card and Manual, so the price would be $830 from the UK to the US. They are big heavy PCBs so it is not cheap to send. I can send pics
