People want da boobies.Other than the cleavage and Japanese text in the intro, is there any difference between the Japanese and World versions? I own a world version PCB and give the game a playthrough every time I visit a game center here and don't notice anything. The main game itself seems to be exactly the same.
I can understand wanting the Japanese version from a collectors standpoint all the way, but I'm just curious if there are any game differences I'm not aware of.
And no one here would blame 'em for that !People want da boobies.Other than the cleavage and Japanese text in the intro, is there any difference between the Japanese and World versions? No actual gameplay differences. The JP version usually fetches a much higher premium however, so it's the "collector's" version to own.According to TCRF, it's only a picture of Jessica at the beginning and the ending (no pictures) that are different.

Is there more stuff they missed?
I feel this way too, but the Japanese version of Night Slashers for example is graphically better (has more story and cut scenes), so even though I can't read it (yet, in Japanese class!), I prefer it.I'm sorry but I can't relate.
any word I can't read during a game or settings makes me crazy.
all English for me please
Maybe it's only a matter of using the Japanese GFX ROMs?That being said, there is a 30th anniversary ROM hack of FF that adds a third player (very cool!), maybe that team can also incorporate the cut Japanese graphics into their version as well for the ultimate version!
Once you hit high beginner level (finishing both Genki books at a minimum) then give the original Shenmue a shot in Japanese in “game mode”; the original Japanese Dreamcast version that is, with no English anywhere. It’s actually quite good for listening practice because Ryo is asking the same kinds of questions in different ways based off who he is talking to, and receiving a variety of similar answers in return. Talk to everybody in town about each little event and purposely don’t talk to the person that will trigger the next one. Repeat each day several times, then move on. It is very tedious like textbook studying, but it’s a fun addition to add to your study routine. The summer before I moved out here I had all the time in the world so I played the crap out of it.I feel this way too, but the Japanese version of Night Slashers for example is graphically better (has more story and cut scenes), so even though I can't read it (yet, in Japanese class!), I prefer it.I'm sorry but I can't relate.

Looks like the team that did the 30th anniversary DID include the cut stuff in their version! No issues!I feel this way too, but the Japanese version of Night Slashers for example is graphically better (has more story and cut scenes), so even though I can't read it (yet, in Japanese class!), I prefer it.I'm sorry but I can't relate.

Maybe so since they made it seem it wasn't too big a deal. But if I change out the ROMs on my FF, it will definitely be to the 30th anniversary ones, it looks insane!Maybe it's only a matter of using the Japanese GFX ROMs?I haven't checked if both tiles are present and it's a pointer difference in the code or if some GFX ROMs are different. That being said, there is a 30th anniversary ROM hack of FF that adds a third player (very cool!), maybe that team can also incorporate the cut Japanese graphics into their version as well for the ultimate version!
