I've tried both but I get the Error 1 on the blast using the power from capcom IO and 6 pin from the blast or if I use all the 8 and 6 pin from the blast it doesn't seem to make a difference. I do notice that if I only use the capcom IO and no 6pin like I do with my testbench/supergun setup on the blast it powers on but I get no video. Using the 8 pin from the Blast I get video but Error 1.

ok so I've taken readings with my meter on both the JVS loom in the cab and the Capcom IO board and checked them again after putting everything on the supergun:

JVS Loom:
11.88v
5.32v
3.45v

Capcom IO power connector (farside):
11.87v
5.30v
3.27v

Capcom IO power connector (farside) connected to supergun:
12.16v
5.12v
3.27v

Please tell me if anyone sees something glaring here, is my Blast voltage too high?

I'm testing at the cable I'm plugging directly into the naomi, how could I plug the probes in while the naomi has the cable attached?

Ok so I retested and the numbers directly off the naomi are

on JVS loom:
11.57v
4.72v
3.04v

Supergun:
12.20v
4.96v
3.17v

When I tried testing off the capcom IO alone pluged into the JAMMA edge I was getting undervolting .2mv on the 5v line.
Oddly I noticed if I didn't plugin the monitor until after I heard the noami boot sound it would give me the gateway error because I didn't have a pi pluged in at the moment but assume it would have been ready to netboot. So I'm guessing I need to turn the voltage UP on the blast?

Oh, you trying to NetBoot with one psu and a capcom io? You need a second power supply, the capcom io can’t handle the 3.3v power draw needed by the netdimm.

if your blast city loom has JVS power connectors you can probably use the capcom io connected via jamma for controls, vga direct to the Naomi, and JVS power direct to the Naomi. Then adjust 5v and 3.3v on the blast psu. The blast psu should handle that. So the capcom io will not be sending power to the Naomi in this example.

Yea that’s what I’m doing only using the Capcom IO for controls not for power, but when it powers up it gives me the Error 01 unless I unplug the VGA cable until it boots. If I use the supergun it powers up and I can NetBoot but I’m only using the 8pin connector so the video and audio cut off after playing a game for a few minute presumably from not enough power. So do you think if I increase the voltage on the blast PSU it will resolve my Error 01 issue?

If you are seeing 4.72v on 5v and 3.04v on the 3.3v then the netdimm is not going to work. Yes, boot it up and turn the 5v pot on the blast psu so it reads 5v at the Naomi. Then adjust the 3.3v pot.

every pcb draws differently so you need to measure and adjust the psu each time you swap in a new game

so this maybe related may not, I noticed the VGA cable running to the NANAO was warm, unplugging it and getting video over the jamma edge works but with a horizonal hold roll, I also noticed that if I put my thumb over the pins on the VGA cable coming off the NANAO I get a bit of a tingle, same thing for if I touch around the exposed metal near where the control buttons are a nice steady tingle..... is the monitor not grounding?

I guess it depends on where it would be shorting to.

Is your VGA cable fully pinned? Because it shouldn't be. Pin 9 should be missing. Pin 9 can cause issues.
Yes it looks like the VGA cable on the nanao has all 15 pins. What’s the best way to disable pin 9?

Can someone elaborate a bit for me on the pin 9 issue? That a nanao problem or a naomi problem? I though pin 9 was just a ground pin?

This is the vga connector on my test bench Makvision 3M25, the nanao looks like a regular fully pinned VGA cable.
