I have parts if you are interested. That metal part I saw it at home depot. Just in case. There at the diamond floor plating area near the hardware section.

I know this is late but remaking a kickplate is your best bet, mine was dinted beyond repair.
I cut and folded some mirror finish stainless steel, then I fit, drilled and pop riveted it.
