Hello everyone,

I'm Warner, I'm from France, and i'm beyond middle age crisis.

I've dedicated my life (in a manner of speaking) playing old Capcom VSF, like SFA3, 3S, Vampire Savior and CvS2.

Some 3S and CvS2 players may have encountered me at HFS Summer events in France before covid breakout. :hp:

I love my Dreamcast and i have two Astros for taisen set-ups of madness with friends !!

That's all about me, i'm mostly on Arcade Projects to learn more about CPS2 and CPS3 hardwares !!

See you around,

Thanks guys.

3S and CvS2? You’re a person of good taste!

Well,
3S has became a must play since... SF4, but CvS2... It's différent.

It seems to me that CvS2 has gain some reconnaissance since a couple of years. Now, americans are seriously online-playing the game with NulDC Bear/ FC2 and Flycast, lots of youtubers have shown their interests in the game. It looks we'll see some kind of return of greatness of CvS2, and i hope in Europe too.

Next is Vampire Savior...

I do play shmup games too, on Saturn mostly.
And i have a Xbox one and a Switch on which i play old games mostly, but there are two games that caught my attention recently : Lonely Moutains : Downhill and art of rally, two low-poly gems that work quite well between two arcade sessions.

I don’t remember 3S and CvS2 being as popular at my local arcade as say MvC2 back in the early 2000s. That’s not to say they didn’t have their following but the games have certainly attracted a broader audience as of late. Having rollback netcode makes the games really attractive to people who compete online-only especially true during the pandemic.

I played a lot of VSav on the PS1 and always really loved it even though I could never string a combo together to save my life 😅

At this point, 2021, we can be sure MvC2 is a USA-specific game, as UMvC3, which became the main event at EVO during his last years before Inifinite (and if we don't look at AgeoJoe the year he slayed all mvc3 american players).
No doubt on that, MvC2 had its biggest success in USA, and was clearly "discovered" by american players.

And the rise of Flycast comes with the return of MvC2 online, i see that too, even if, when you look today at Null DC Bear design, it's clearly adressed to CvS2 players.

In my memory, Vsav PS1 was called "Darkstalkers 3" here in France on PS1, and I suppose it was the same in USA (?).
A shame, i did not even look at it back in those days, though i did not miss any Alphas at the same period.
