Yep, was excited to finally get it set up and was expecting the usual nice namco free play like on tekken etc.
WRONG! it's maybe one of the worst due to the loop.
Knowing namco / later PS1 stuff the program will be compressed or protected with scrambling to make a patch much harder.

Lethal Crash Race just sits on a static screen when set to free play. It also loops a really annoying tune even when you have demo sound set to off.
 
if it's the one that uses martin luther king samples that's kind of hilarious

Vs. Super Mario Bros. just sits on "press 1 or 2 player start" if set to free play.

Honestly tho why would you ever set ARCADE games to free play?
Don't ya'll keep a large token bucket on/next to your machines?

Its NOT arcade gaming if your not coin-drop'n.
Whats next? You'll disable the coin counters inside your cabs so even when you do coin up it doesn't increase?

Yeah I turned all my leftover yen into 100 yen coins last time I was in Japan, and if I didn't I would just wire a credit button. I think this is more people with public-facing machines wanting freeplay though. I would just do a token setup in that case though, coin mechs are cheap.

wow, surprising such a new game does this... at least it's an LCD so lower risk of burn-in.

Both Suzuka 8 Hours and Suzuka 8 Hours 2 just sit on static backgrounds with blinking text.
