Location of Backup Rams on Slot MVH-1 change by Fram

So you guys are saying I can use FM1808 and ditch the battery forever? From the back and forth, I gathered that the MVS handles read and write correctly to swap to FRAM, if it's not a fake FRAM. Then the question is, what's the best place to get legit FM1808? Digikey and Mouser wants $10 for one

i wouldnt bother,
because fram is so expensive i would only use it for stuff with security or serial numbers in the ram.
like konami viper.

for everything else i just remove the charging resister and fit a coincell socket.

if you fit FRAM you still need a coincell for the clock chip

I have since put back the original chips and removed the FRAMs on this motherboard.

I leave her alone, but I will receive a new motherboard of this type and resume testing on it.
So you have to install the fram like on Sega Saturn ?

I read that before but was looking for something concrete from Apocalypse but I don't think he's active anymore.

But on a side note, if it just needs to be inverse of /WE then lifting pin 22 and using an LS04 would probably work.

fram on mvs is silly though - you still need to keep the clock powered.
