I never knew that was a thing before, now I kinda want one.

That also reminds me... Anyone know of a 3D printed "key" cover?
I hate looking at the hole in my metal plate/cover.

basically it was luck to find that satellite terminal dimm pcb, the base is from a GD-ROM with firmware 4.02

I've also been looking for some 3d printing for the key

putting pcb's on a flatbed scanner works really well when i tried it a few times

the interesting thing we learn from the sattelite board is that it can function without the custom - it just needs the PCI ethernet chip.
so it would be possible to build clones!!
if i had one i would re-populate the serial port though.

my scanner could not perform a scan of the motherboards, I have a microscope, is there any program which can photograph parts and join them into a single image?

dont bother - i will try on a scanner soon.
it works for "normal boards", but i never tried it with boards elevated by tall stuff like ram slots - gonna be interesting to try.

I do not think it has any use, since within the satellite versions they are not connected

that type of thing really bugs me - i need to know about unused connectors!
if i had a net-dimm i would be following traces, but all my dimm's are gd only

the only way to see if they have any functionality is to check the satellite terminal games. I am quite interested, I will check with the oscilloscope while I play if they have any functionality when I win a game

gonna try to id it.

i think we need to dump that gal too - i dont think any small pld's are in mame yet.
it seems sattelite related, the full net/gd board has it missing!
and JP7 too - fitted for sattelite but missing for the full board!

N11 and P11 arrive directly to the GAL16V8D and from the gal some pins are transmitted to IC12 and others to connector CN2 that join the option board and the main board of the dimm

I have been checking outputs CN7 and CN8 with an oscilloscope. there is no type of signal that it emits in normal games such as capcom vs snk, power stones, among others. The only games that I have not tried to carry out a test have been the satellites. It has a led, I understand if it will work, it should turn on the led that is next to the cn8 connector and also changed the position of the JP7 jumper without any type of change.

maybe it's all related to master/slave stuff,
the terminal games have a slave unit that acts as a big display.
maybe @bobbydilley knows something.
