So similar to Capcom DECO used different colors for the cases.
I thought the region is identified by those check boxes J U E A on the label:

It doesn't look like the region had anything to do with the cart color, it looks like it was based on release. It also seems that the earlier releases (Dunk Dream '95 & Avengers) were black, while the later releases (Dunk Dream '96, Stadium Hero '96) were orange. I don't have Skull Fang, maybe someone else can confirm the color of its shell, I suspect that it is orange. Here's a pic of my MLC collection for reference.

I almost bought a G Darius the other day for a little more than $350, but then I looked at my domestic and import PS1 copies and my Switch HD copy and I had to do the guy pointing at himself in the mirror meme.

But that game rules and I still listen to the OST at work sometimes
