My Capcom Vewlix was 2400$, for only 400$ more/difference?
I would totally rather have a almost new Vewlix-C then a aging, CRT you know has a fuct (I'm adopting this word, please see the WTF Sales thread for further details) chassis E2.
I told KC over the phone I wouldn't go 1$ above 1000$, and even that I think is crazy high.
I remember when Matsu imported a bunch of these, he was selling each one for like 700$...
Granted that was about 10+ years ago now, but still 700$!!!
Also, what the heck are we seeing (right hand side) in these shots?

I didnt want to say anything in his sale thread. But yeah Ive always wanted one but for $400 more I can get an F. But also I wonder if this is the future? The CRT ones will be $10,000 and Vewlix will be $600?

Well to be fair the Atomiswave is pretty much just like the E2, only it has a crap Wei-ya CRT and PSU (if its still stock).
Not sure about that black hole, but the knob is probably an externally mounted volume pot.
The fact that there are holes drilled in this thing devalues it tremendously IMO. The scrapes and scratches on the body are fine if this was a budget cab but for $2K+ it should be fully shopped and pristine condition, and even then it'd be overpriced IMO.
I guess we'll see if it actually sells. that is the only real test if something is priced well.

Basically 1/4th of his original asking price!
I like KC, he is a good seller (texts me often) and I would buy from him again (both my Vewlix cabs came from KC).
He however seems to have lost his mind on this one, that or someone ripped him off and he is trying to recover his expense.
Having already established I would never pay 2k for a E2, I think I should mention that IF I was seriously considering it...

My thoughts on this are that
1. for a while every-time he posted a cab people would ask about E2s so he knows people want them.
2. some idiots have been trying to artificially inflate the price by posting them up on eBay at stupid high prices which gives the perception that maybe that's what they're worth.
Maybe the combination of those things has him believing that $2K+ is the going rate for E2s.

In regards to 2, that ridiculous VideoGames X or whatever in Huntington Beach has been trying to sell an Egret 3 with a Toshiba PF for $10k for 3+ years now. They had other Egret 3's and were trying to pass them off as 2's for a while as well. So a quick eBay search would definitely lead you to believe that Egrets in general are pricier than they are.
I know Matsu was mentioned earlier. When he stopped selling them last year they were $1200 each, I snagged one then in 9/10 shape with a bit of burn on the tube for $750 and he tossed in a free stool. Swapped out the tube and it's a thing of beauty.
A guy on here was selling a VERY nice one for $1600 or $1800(?) last year, but to my knowledge it never actually sold. I know I, and several others tried to buy it but it never got marked sold and he never got back to me and a couple other people that I'm aware of after the first few weeks of PM's. So there's obviously demand at that price for a pristine example. I can't see this one getting that price outside of uninformed eBay folks though :/.

I have no problem recommending KC when he has a nice cab at a good price, hell even not so good price if the cab is high quality.
The flip side of that token is... Yea... When I don't feel the price or the cab is worth it, I express that and just why I feel that way.
I mean no disrespect to KC, I hope he keeps getting these nice Vewlix cabs!
Yea I believe it 100%, I remember that Josh guy from VGX... He was trying to pressure me into selling a bunch of carts I listed individually as a bundle.
Saying stuff like "I need to be able to resell these for a profit" then I catch a few of his auctions, SKY HIGH prices!
My thoughts exactly, I would pay 2k$ for it!

Someone (name hidden to protect the innocent!) told him the Toshibas were rare and he slapped that price on it. It will never move, I dunno what he's thinking all this time later. The $1500 Astros I can see, still a rip off but someone might bite still. But $10k is ridiculous.
Personally I think people should look out for fellow collectors when it comes to rip off prices, but I'll take it somewhere else.

bought my e2 just over a year ago from someone (not naming names) for much less than this.
after having owned it:

it has remained unrotated since then.
these things are top heavy, easily tipped, difficult to repair NACs. nothing more.
