Hi just had a blast city imported. He sent me this video before shipment. Shows discoloration near center of tube when off can’t really notice it much when game is running. The seller said it’s the protective film in the video and no burn in just checking to see if this is true or not and something I can fix.

Thanks

Yeah, that's just wear on the coating on the monitor. It's common. You can either live with it, or go through the painful process of polishing it all off. Which people have done, but I don't recommend personally.

Eh. I mean depends on the monitor tube, which they are known to swap in subs at those overseas shops. It can probably be cleaned and buffed though, but that should have been done by them not you. Seems like either way its now your problem to fix if they already shipped.

Thanks for the reply! That would be nice if I could just buff it out . I’ll def give it a try it’s suppose to be an original Toshiba with a ms2930 chassis which was also supposedly recapped.

Thank you! Just was praying it wasn’t something on inside going bad. I’ll prob just live with it as I have read a few articles on removing the film and that doesn’t look like something I want to do as I could mess it up.

Id evaluate when it arrives. Looks like filter caps weren’t replaced. But thats typical. Id definitely address the high voltage smd caps as well.

Thanks for taking the time to look
Those pictures over. I’ll get those ordered today. Anywhere you recommend

It's what I would consider "standard wear" and will be fairly invisible once the monitor is on. I would personally just not worry about it, unless you're the kind of person who wants to spend 10s to 100s of hours restoring your cabs, which is a perfectly irrational thing to do. The right kind of crazy. And also totally unnecessary unless that's your thing.
