Hi Guys, I’m 25 years old, 2 years work experience in cybersecurity, have an associate degree in software and game design, and am from New Hampshire. I grew up on games and more specifically if your from New England going to funspot with my dad which features one of the largest collections of early-1970s to late-2000s games in the world. I love fighting games and beat em ups and am looking forward to meeting people on the forums and building arcade cabs I recently acquired a SEGA alls ux from a fate grand order cabinet am looking forward to learning about it and using it as first project and jumping off point to get into the hobby!

Welcome! Always great to see another New Hampshirite

(though your location does say "Vermont" :P )

Nice to meet ya! I work Vermont during the week lol, left the cybersecurity space to help the family business(hotel) when some long time employees passed away currently trying to pivot get into air traffic control.

Welcome to AP. I share in your sentiment of & have very fond memories of going to Funspot. I basically spent every season in Laconia & know the Laconia/Gilford/Tilton area very well.

Also, Weirs Beach (Half Moon Arcade; the Pier). Many years ago I used to work with a girl whose family (the Abdullas) used to own the Pier before they sold it. That pier was where I first got to play a SF2 cabinet when it first came out in 1991/2 & started my descent into this hobby off and on throughout almost three decades now!

Those Daytona 1 machines downstairs at Funspot (down the stairs just after the air hockey tables) probably have had (still has?) the fingerprints of every New Englander here on Arcade Projects lol.

Half Moon and Penny Arcades is where I used to work when I was a repair tech. Best part of that Job is the head tech was the dean of an electrical engineering college and taught me a ton, and I got to play pinball on my breaks for free. Worst part is every bike week I'd have to move all of the machines out of the arcades into trailers so we could sell the space to vendors, once the week was over 😑

The old Dayton 1s were still there last time I went, and they now also have a newer 8-player setup. Another interesting cab that I think AP people would apprciate is the ACAM upstairs has the Keith Apicary Neo Geo from the music video.

FunSpot slowly degraded over the years since it's heyday in the 90s but I feel like 7 or 8 years ago they really turned it around and started putting money into improvements, the new Pinball area they've recently added is quite nice.
