Kaboom!

More info coming soon. It's a 2 PCB Multi and you'll need a joystick game with this specific video GFX PCB to make it work.

for those looking for donors:
I get people asking me which PCBs will be compatible. These are the games that will be able to run the multi. They should have on the smaller board a custom Namco Chip called 102:

  • Assault
  • Assault Plus
  • Bubble Trouble: Golly! Ghost! 2
  • Burning Force
  • Cosmo Gang - The Video
  • Dirt Fox
  • Dragon Saber
  • Gholly Ghost
  • Finest Hour
  • Kyuukai Douchuuki
  • Marvel Land
  • Mirai Ninja
  • Ordyne
  • Phelios
  • Rolling Thunder 2
  • Legend of the Valkyrie
  • Super World Stadium
  • Super World Stadium 92 (It has a CUS102 but it's not used, so you are not sure if it's good donor until you convert to something else that uses the CUS102)
  • Super World Stadium 93
Rest of Namco System 2 games arent good donors.

crazy that the original thread for this was started over 5 years ago!

not really, no.
I do think that this has been on people's radar long enough that hopefully those interested have managed to snag something by now.
Yeah I picked up a cheap Assault PCB right away when this was first announced, since then I’m sure prices have skyrocketed.

This is going to be preorder guys, so save some money for this.
Any ballpark estimate on the price?

OK, so I'm thinking if 16 slots would be enough. It doesn't have sense to have more for baseball games. You can have have hacks, trainers or develop new homebrews.

Here is a list that comes to my mind. Comments?

assault
assaultp
burnforc
cosmogng
dirtfoxj
dsaber
dsaberj
finehour
marvland
marvlandup
mirninja
ordyne
phelios
rthun2j
valkyrie
valkyriej

I'm not making any rompack or going to support any request for roms, Mame roms are not hard to find if you use google.

I think 16 is enough, so long as people can mix and match.
That's enough for your preferred version of every supported game including the 4 Baseball games if you so desire. or you can nix games you don't care about to include alt versions of the games you do care about.

this is how I might lay out my games:
0 1988 ordyne - Ordyne (World)
1 1989 marvlandup - Marvel Land (US, prototype)
2 1988 mirninja - Mirai Ninja (Japan, set 1)
3 1988 phelios - Phelios
4 1990 rthun2 - Rolling Thunder 2
5 1990 kyukaidk - Kyuukai Douchuuki (Japan, new version (Rev B))
6 1992 sws - Super World Stadium (Japan)
7 1992 sws92g - Super World Stadium '92 Gekitouban (Japan)
8 1993 sws93 - Super World Stadium '93 (Japan)
9 1989 valkyriee - Valkyrie no English (Hack)
A 1988 assaultp - Assault Plus (Japan)
B 1989 burnforc - Burning Force (Japan, new version (Rev C))
C 1991 cosmogng - Cosmo Gang the Video (US)
D 1990 dsaber - Dragon Saber (World, DO2)
E 1989 dirtfoxj - Dirt Fox (Japan)
F 1989 finehour - Finest Hour (Japan)
