Hi there!,

I’m from Spain, not really close to Japan but…I've been obsessed with japanese cabs since the moment I saw them for first time. I spend more time admiring them than actually playing. I got 3 ones (two Blast City and one Astro City), not in the same house so, I'm always thinking about how to bring another one to my home…without a “domestic-war”

It's weird, because my interest in video games is not related with arcade culture. I have memories from my youth, playing Bubble Bobble with my brother in our PC/IBM286 (the most anti-erothic game machine ever), I didn't go to arcades often, and japanese culture is not my favorite “theme”.

However, something changed into my head the first time I saw a BLAST CITY “face to face”. Its dimensions, color, materials, or that huge marquee... it seemed to came directly from the mind of Moebius. I didn't rest until I got my own cab, and once I got it, I enjoyed cleaning, restoring, and "understanding" how it works.

The other cabs…well, you can guess the rest…

It’s a pleassure to share experiences ;)

Hi!

Bienvenido!!

My case is similar to yours. Never was a huge fan of arcades back in the day (too scary people at those places in Spain xD), nor a huge fan of Japanese culture (which I like a lot anyway), but also had that “click” first time I played a candy cab. This was back in 2017 at the Fightcade Offline Festival (now Mikado Europe!) that Rocco/Tomás did. Now I have 3 Astros, 1 Atomiswave SD, a Blast City and a Vewlix, plus other machines… 😅

Thanks for your welcome, guys! ;)

I’ve seen several videos about the Mikado Europe. It’s close to be the heaven in the earth!! :D:D:D

In you case, @gamezer0, you didn’t have a “click” …you had something like…
”CLOOOONNNCK” ;)
