Basic questions about the WiPi netboot please

I will try to use the HashTools , never done before, but I finally sorted to exted the 8GB WiPi img and so moved the roms from the 32GB img.
My proble now is that I can't make the NetDimm and the Pi working together. The IP Adress settings of my NetDimm board got lost any time I goes in the service menu (?). What exactly is the next passage after setting the NetDimm board? Is correct to turn arcade board and Pi together to do this first setting?
I tried to lunch some games and gotr a message "not dimms available for this game" (?)
I did have much tuime to dedicate but I will be back and try. Thanks for any tips

You are right, they come with different sizes and my one is not 31.9GB, but I tested the 32GB img with a 64GB SD and got the same result. Like I said, probably something wrong with my 32GB img file, but you know all the story I don't know what else to do with it...
Never mind @CamoYoshi Finally It is working now! I didn't clicked on "SET" after setting the IP address so the board was resetting the default IP. They are woking together now!

I still think I need a working 32GB img if someone could share it please.

As mentioned before I moved the roms from my "not working" 32GB img to my "working" 8GB img and probably some games are corrupted (as I think my 32GB img is):
- Some games run ok,
- with some games like CVS2 after the loading time I get message "Caution 51 - Game assigments are incorrect. Set correctly in system assignments of test mode"
- some games like VF4 won't load, getting a message from the launcher "no dimms available for this game".

I don't think that happen to a working 32GB img with everything set in

Yes - You must select SET after both setting the IP and Netmask in the NetDIMM test menu. It gets written to a NVRAM chip similar to a PC's BIOS settings.

CVS2 with the Caution 51 message means the Naomi settings are incorrect and need to be changed. You will need to go into SYSTEM ASSIGNMENTS in the Naomi test menu (not the game test menu) and change settings (likely the 1/2 Player(s) setting), or possibly the monitor orientation if you were previously playing a vertical game.

Virtua Fighter 4 is a NAOMI 2 game. It cannot run on a NAOMI 1.

Done!

I will check it out in the test menu

Yes,
My one is a Naomi 2 setup running at 15khz into a New Astro City.
Just for clarity, I get that message from the web launcher, not from the arcade board, I have also got that when boards and Pi were not talking together

All sorted now, thanks!
Finally I found some proper time to dedicate to it and figure out all these issues. Tx again for your tips.
Now a good move will be to move the videos trailer of all the games from the 32gb img to my current ex “8gb img”

So I suspect what might be happening that I have found out: The image file on the official WiPi page is larger than some other brands of 32GB MicroSDs. It was taken from a SanDisk Ultra MicroSD which has a norminal capacity of 31.9GB. Most other 32GB SD cards in the market are 31.5GB or less. Since whoever took the image placed the OS boot partition at the END of the SD card, what happens is you get a corrupt OS when you write to the SD card, which is a insane setup.

I've been working on a modified image that should be much more reliable to write to other SD cards by shrinking some of the partitions a little and moving them toward the front of the SD card and leaving some empty space at the end. Not ready for prime time yet as I need to test it some more but I will post about it once it's ready.

@LittleMegaGamer

As promised, I started a new thread for this: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/improved-wipi-netbooter-sd-card-image.34484/

Also, I have some issue with Virtua Stricker 3 and Chaos Field. Both of them froze just after the first credits screens o during the game play.
Is it because my NetDimm is 256mb?

I haven't tested all the Naomi games but no issue with the rest tested so far.
