I need some help figuring out how to wire the controls to my mahjong boards. I will write what I think I understand. Please correct me and jump in with anything I'm missing.

This is the control panel I have and I was thinking of maybe getting this harness.

Given that the pinout for mahjong controllers looks like this:

What I think I'm supposed to do is, for example, on button A, I hook up the wires that come from the two prongs on it so that they go to pins A and M on the harness.

Is that correct?

Because of the number of buttons, some will have to connect to the same pins, right? So, for example. The start button also connects to pin A but its second wire will have to connect to pin T.

Right?

If I understand correctly, I can do this by connecting one wire to button A and one wire to the start button and then linking them together in a little bulb like what's been done on this panel

and then running an individual wire that goes from that bulb down to pin A on the harness. Is that right?

Please forgive any incorrect/weird terminology (but feel free to correct it). I'm not trained in working with electronics. I just like arcade cabs and don't really know where to start learning how to work on them.

Is my understanding about how to wire this control panel accurate? And if so, what tools do I need and what else should I keep in mind?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Bumping an old thread, trying to hook up hot gimmick taisen is the multiplex wiring method here correct?

That matrix is correct.

Do your panel already have a connector on it?

As an example, run a cable from "COM 0-3" to one pin of each button of: A, E, I, M ,KAN ,START
Then for A, connect other pin to "KEY 0-4", for E connect other pin to "KEY 1-5" and so on.

Yep my panel had a connector and all, I ended up figuring it out luckily and it makes sense when breaking it down

jong has begun...

We are here with a new issue...

I got a new astro city which has been amazing, wanted to get Hot Gimmick going however it seems the game does not sync properly (which I assume is because of the absence of "video ground" on the mahjong pinout that was supplied with the hot gimmick manual. Does anyone know where to wire video ground on a mahjong board, or does it simply get wired with the standard control grounds? Thanks!

Mahjong games use common GND as video ground.
