Hey, I have one of the CV1000 China bootlegs for quite some time. Now after some time of playing it got picture destortion. The Sound is still running perfect.
Somtimes I can play for one hour, somtimes 20 to 40 minuts. when I turn off and on the picture is normal again for about 10 to 20 minutes.
Any idea what can cause this and if its possible to fix?
Thank you and Greetings
Alex

Looks like a sync issue. Clean your edge connector and JAMMA connector for starters.

Also try on another cab/Supergun to try replicate to be sure it’s an issue with the board.

Thank you, as you said, I cleand the contacts an changed the connector, I have the original shorter connector and a longer one I made. I also put a little solder on the pcb Sync pin to create more contact. but after running the Game for 20 minutes, same issue again.

Without testing it in another cab or environment the results will probably be inconclusive.

Might wanna call in that warranty if it isn't too late :)

Yes, im sure its not the Monitor, I had it Running in two pcb switch, and only this game had the issue, with switch and directly. I will test it later on my super gun at home.

I did, and a few minutes ago also on my Supergun. Same issue, game starts normal, after some time, more or less, this Sync Problem.

no, I never used one, but I found out, that the sync pin leads through an 10 Ohm Resistor to this chip. That chip is getting hot as hell.

The LX240A part number is an abbreviation for SN74LVT240ADBR.

You can order another one from Rochester Electronics or Mouser:

Thank you, I ordert the Chip and an 10ohm Smd resistor. But please tell me, how did you know the right chip, when there are 4 options with the same number on the chip. Sorry for the dumb questions, I Can do some solder work, but I have no clue in Electronics 😂

I guess because of the different package type, SSOP, TSSOP etc

We should have taken measurements - indeed, it could be the TSSOP part instead of the SSOP part.

According to the datasheet:
The TSSOP part measures 6.5mm length by 4.4mm width
The SSOP part measures 7.2mm length by 5.3mm width

@TK86079 , I apologize If the SSOP part you already ordered ends up being the wrong one. Fortunately, the pin spacing and pin width looks identical between the two parts so I expect the pad spacing is such that either will work.

Yes, its about 6 to 4 mm in size. No Problem we will see, if they also fit otherwise I will order the other Chips. Im happy for your advise and help!✌🏻

Before all this trouble, you've tried the sync pot on your chassis, right?
Right??

If the chip is super hot it must have some problem, but the pot should be one of the first things to look out for.
