Hey there,

I just recently acquired another complete CPS3 set including ram, superbios and cd drive. Unfortunately the mainboard itself doesn't seem to work (just stays black when powered on), so I'm looking for just a mainboard right now. I tested all the other parts on my other mainboard and they seem to work just fine.

Cheers,

Sascha

I have another board, however, I am uncertain as to whether it is good. When I turn is on I get a garbled screen. I forget the what the indicator are for broken or bad versus may have needed better cleaning? I can test it again to verify for you.

If there is someone else that can help me figure out if my board is bad before I beginning the process of selling it. That would be great. I forget if I were to just insert the multi card and hook up the cd drive. Will it boot and indicate an error due to NO SIMMS? I forget how to test a CPS3 without having to fully move over all of the additional components.

Would love to help but I don't want to send or sale something that has issue either. Hope someone and myself can assist you.

Thanks mate - I think the garbled output is normal if you turn it on without the security cart, which should be easy to move over for a quick test. Not sure about what it would show with no SIMMs installed tho.

With no security cart you're gonna get garbage on the screen. If you just insert darksoft cart or any working cart, it'll complain about not enough memory. It will boot though.

Cool, when I get home I will put the cart DS cart in the empty board and retest if it works okay or consistently. I will let you know mtn. thanks Bling

Gonna try to piggy back this thread... anybody else have a spare mobo sitting around? I'd even take junk

Sorry for the delay, been busy with work and familymanland. I should have time tonight to test that board. I should have answer for by this evening. USA eastern standard time zone.

They made a deal with me about some games and said to give them some time and they would get back to me when they get them. They never did so I contacted them again a little over a week later to see if there was any news and again they said they would get back to me. Almost a week later I contacted them again and said I'm good and I found the games I was looking for through another source. Well I guess I did something terrible by doing that because I was told He was going to let me know when he found them in his warehouse and he never wanted to deal with me again. If I remember correctly the guy's name is Dave that I was dealing with.

I have a tested working CPS3 motherboard with some SIMMs installed (not all though), PM if you are interested.
