PascalP is right, System 246 is really picky about 5 volt. Mine will only work with 5.2 volt and a good PSU.

I believe the partition size of FAT32 is 32GB. I "hate" multiple partitions for Windows 98 PC's (only want a C-Drive; C:\APPS; C:\GAMES; C:\DOS; C:\WINDOWS), so I use 8GB (16GB is better :) ) which is enough for me.

CF Card will be recognized as an IDE HDD. Works fine without any issues from my experience. (I use it in an AMD K6-2 Windows 98SE PC)

Troubleshooting is not hard for me, I used to work at the assembly/technical department of a computer store. It is the motherboard :( Please note; in your other PC you want to upgrade the memory to 768MB. Windows 98SE can behave strange if you have more then 512MB, so I would not upgrade it to...

That solution is for hard discs and not for DVD/CD-ROM. IDE is just the interface.
