A lot of those if defor's archive.org collection don't boot I would recommend converting them from their CHD files from the mame collection but even then a lot of games don't work people did a lot of work dumping stuff for their private collections. but most of stuff public has some problems...

Civ.bin goes in the root of the SD card not under any folder, and you don't need to keep flashing and flashing firmware

Hirose is a staple here in the us for old arcade guys like me , if you have the time patience and soldering skills like I do go hirose you won't regret it
