I have a test rom for the normal boards, (it test ram, nmk004 comms etc) but it won't work on strahl or bio ship due to the extra chipset. Maybe i can mod it to run on that board fairly easily, but i'm low on time right now.

004 is quite solid, but the 6116 ram with it is a common fail. the reset section on these is very fussy, i have a macross somewhere that only boots occasionally and never tracked down the fault...

Excellent! Good to see my old ports getting used! (although, the phantasm needs a small cleanup.... IIRC the rom i sent was in "debug" mode..) I have a kit for this but had no time to build yet.... There's also a couple of spare banks if anything else gets ported... @arcadecollector...

Yeah that sounds like a shorted 3V rail, so you can either remove components until the short goes, or try the heat method.

Upgrading is optional , but it's nice to raise up the board specs, for future work :) I think most people who upgraded used a 2xVRAM board already?

110000 is indeed nichibutsu, 105931 is bubble bobble bootleg. not sure of the others. I don't think the ring 87 has many games , probably just another manufacturer. Any luck on getting good reads from the strange ones?

Do ALL the EPROMS and MX chips if possible, this is a very hacked version, - OKI sound etc. Very curious pcb!

Please dump all the roms, then we can get it emulated see what is bad, and try and re-construct the bad GFX roms...

Not exactly, the multi has a hardware RNG, the keycus-free versions had software based RNG. The other thing about the conversions , the smaller pcb's hold less roms , so don't expect to put a big game on the small romboard easily.

If they are " PAL L " they can be bruteforced with the 020 adapter.... PAL R cannot be done with this method, and PAL CE are hit and miss depending on the programming.
