[FIXED] TTX2 - First no video, later no signs of life

I'm just not ready to give up on it. I have seen more information about the game now, still working on a service manual or finding a parts list, but I'm honestly wondering if this is something painfully simple. For example, there are screen digitizers (I hate that word) that use serial output...

Here are some additional pics of unrelated errors, but worth documenting nevertheless. First image is the message I received when I accidentally left my 7900 in the TTX2, when it should have been the X1600. Second image is what happened when I was mashing the Test Switch hooked up to the IO...

[FIXED] TTX2 - First no video, later no signs of life

Update: The 100-ohm resistor helped start a few games that were on the multigame, however, it did not change the results about the JVS error. I also tried powering up the I/O board early and later in the boot process. Still no dice. I did try some other things, however, and got a new...

That link is exactly what I needed. I have the pinouts for all of the Sega boards I own, but his little 100-ohm resistor trick at the bottom of that page is a little nugget of wisdom that I hadn’t found yet.

I have a Neo Goldie 2-slot. But it actually has a 4-slot in it right now, as the 2-slot board had lots of acid damage when I got it. Some of the customs were toast. 4-slot works great though!

Thanks for that information! Is there a key I can press to get into test mode, or is the only way to use the test button on the IO board? I've been trying to find a manual, searching on Japanese arcade pages and everywhere else. So far, no love. But if anything, I'm a persistent bastard, so...

BTW, if anyone ever travels east/west on I-64 between Louisville and St. Louis, I like smack dab between those 2 spots. A bit south, but not more than like 20 minutes south of I-64. Feel free to drop me a line and possibly pop in for a brief visit. My best friends in the world are those that...

You guys know how to get a guy in the feels! Any friend of Lupin is a friend of mine. :) I am still working on my Cliff Hanger, however, a new CNC cabinet may end up helping me to get a looks-like-new setup built before I can restore the original one that I have!

Type X troubleshooting - Update : Another Type X, another problem

Please see my thread over in the Repair Logs forum for more ideas. I had bad caps on my board, too. Your symptoms sound very close to what mine were after I tried to repair mine initially. So, I had to go back and figure out where I went wrong.

Forgot to update. After powering the IO board and hooking it up, I began receiving a different error code. E206 JVS. I don't know what it means, and I can't find anything that lays out the various JVS errors on the TTX# platforms. Any ideas?

Actually, I think I know what’s going on with the IO board too. Pretty sure I forgot to power the IO board, as I only had the USB A-B cable connected to it. I’m building a power cable for it today, so I’ll know more after while. Going to use one of the 4-pin AMP power cables from the TTX2...

Taito Type X2 System Manual uploaded to Arcade Otaku

I was going to upload my scan of this manual to this site, but every forum I checked in basically asked to link to the external site (artwork, scans, etc.). So, you can find the Japanese manual (sorry, no English) at Arcade Otaku. It is a highly compressed PDF with Japanese OCR performed on...

[FIXED] TTX2 - First no video, later no signs of life

Since I felt like I didn't have any issues with the recapping process, the only thing I could suspect is that the capacitor vias themselves weren't all completely filled with solder. To check this, I pulled the motherboard back out, and put my desoldering iron on each cap leg solder joint, and...
