Yup noticed that, it was just the very first power on of the machine (since who knows how many years), I plan to replace it anyways because it's a 26in and should be 29in.
There is its Gun Point PCB, seems it had 4F and 3F replaced at some point (solder flux), the rest looks fine, no signs of...
Hi, I've got an untested Time Crisis 1 cabinet that is having a "SUBCPU START WAIT NG" error at boot up, is stuck there, also test switch / service button don't do anything:
Yes, I'll be replacing the mirror :)
PSU is providing good 5.2v at the board. I've inspected and reconnected the boards...
Ok so I took a good looking clip from an old for parts Kortek chassis, then at the Nanao, when I was taking away the clip I had soldered in the anode cup, the wire came off, so it seems it was already a little weak or something, maybe the bad contact was because of that.
So had to strip a bit...
Hi guys, this time I'm working with this untested MS-2934 chassis I need to bring my chassis-less Crazy Taxi to life, I'm trying it in a Naomi Universal Cabinet.
It does mostly work, it came it with a bent anode clip, and was missing green but found it was because of a light crack at the neck...
Thanks Franck!. Used your schematics for a MS8-25 color issue I had: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/nanao-ms8-25ftb-vertical-collapse-shutdown-issues-red-bleed-flicker-fixed-cap-list.34481/post-474207
Found 2 differences in the neckboard (could be more) that I'm not sure if they are...
The monitor was running alright, but after 5-10 minutes red color would begin to flicker, sometimes went full out, and sometimes went normal back again for a while, quite weird, very unstable.
So began by checking:
Connection from board to monitor, tried something different (TPG) - no change...
This monitor has been fixed :D
Replaced R438, with the Vishay PR02FS0202708KR500 2W 2.7 Ω, fits nicely, and recapped it, but nothing changed, it was good to do it anyways, probably fixed other unseen issues, one of the capacitors had 90ohms ESR!
Then I could not make it turn on again, but that...
Recapped the thing (all minus filter)
Also took out and tested all the color drive transistors close to the pots
1x A928A Y, 2x A733, 7x C945 - all fine
1N4148 diodes were fine too
Replaced the diodes and C945s anyways just in case
Found heater resistor was red/red/gold/gold (2.2ohm), but was...
This is more difficult than expected, I can't find 2.7 Ω 1/2w fusible resistors anywhere, tried mouser/digikey, ebay and arcadepartsandrepair. Also I'm not even sure if it is 1/2w or 1w? measures 8.5mm length, 3mm diameter, so it matches a usual 1/2w carbon but that does not guarantee it.
Also...
Got it, I won't try the Kortek then, I guess I'll try it in the future with a TV tube+yoke since you mention it's could be a good fit for standard NTSC yoke (measuring inductance before), but that'll be a different topic, thanks!.
About the MS8-25 vertical collapse issue, this is what I had...
Hi, I've got a Nanao MS8-25FTB chassis that has vertical collapse, tube is Toshiba A59JMZ193X, yoke readings (not perfect) are:
0.4 ohm / 0.360mh
6.4 ohm / 25.47mh
While I'm trying to repair the chassis (difficult), could something worse than odd geometry happen if try the tube with a Kortek...
Hi guys, I really want to have my House of the Dead cabinet working, I've been able to fix the game PCB thinking the monitor wouldn't be that hard, but it is giving me a bunch of issues, I've been able to overcome most, but now I've become stuck. It's a Ducksan CGM-3307E 33', NAP M78JUA069X...
Very weird, I can't think of anything else more than testing the old srams that have been taken off the board, if they work then they weren't part of the problem, but if any fails then there could be an issue with the soldering of the new ones. If not try find diagnose related components...
