Ah, so it is that circular region! I opted to go through the wall, as you did. It was too hard to solder into that little ridge area, and the dremel didn’t expose more. Thanks for clarifying!

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I have the exact same problem. That being, I recapped this chassis, but still have bad pin cushion issues. I found the schematics and so on, but frankly I don't know enough about what I'm doing to identify where the pin cushion circuit might be in order...
