I recently created an EZ-Swap PCB holder because swapping PCBs was a point of friction when it came to playing games. I wanted something easy, and I came up with a three-point configuration that allows most PCBs to be swapped out with a single screw.
UPDATE: with a thumb screw!
UPDATE: Now supports more board sizes!

I'm offering them for sale because I have a photo studio I need to build and the photography biz ain't the career for people who hate weddings and children but still like money. ;)

Anyway, I am offering a full set in your choice of whatever colours I have on hand, and a carbon fibre option (that stuff is strong af). This includes two base holders, the slider rail, and the slider assembly itself. This has gone through a lot of testing, a bunch of iterations, and has been tested with an OG Donkey Kong boardset that weighs in at 2.3kg (~5lb) so I'm quite confident about the load capacity.

Can be used to mount boards 20cm different in size, for example 15cm - 35cm. PCBs mount at 20mm height (probably the same height as your existing feet), and if you have a plexi base, these boards can be accommodated too, at 10cm.

$10 for a kit

Trackable shipping for any number of sets:
$6.5 to Australia
$16 to Canada / USA (+10% tariff for USA orders)
$18 to Europe / UK
Prices in USD.

Ships with installation, care and feeding instructions. Does not include screws to mount it to your plywood or whatever.

Carbon Fibre is no longer recommended, because the new design doesn't need the extra stiffness.

Very cool! I have something similar I mounted in one of my cabinets. For extra PCBs in your machine, you could mount these kits using some stand offs and you can then screw a PCB down under it too :D

It seems to me I could fairly easily do a 2-board version. At least conceptually, it's easy, the devil's in the details as usual. But also, that's more of a semi-permanent mount, not so much EZ-Swap. But dang, now I want to do that. =D

Interesting, I wonder could you have your EZ-Swap clamps on both sides and then have the whole thing standing off the wooden board. So you could fit one on each side.

So imagine in my photo if the PCB that's screwed to the board was actually also connected to the EZ Swap holder.

I'm going to need you to draw me a diagram, my friend. O_o?

The EZ Swap PCB Holders have been updated with an all-new thumbscrew design! Everyone who bought a set can get a free upgrade to the new design.

Updated the first post to reflect the tariffs for shipments to the USA; added the info about plexi-mounted boards; clarified the mounting heights; removed the low-profile option which is suffering from the existence of Real World Physics.

Updated a few things:

Carbon Fibre filaments are no longer required or recommended
The low profile version was deleted entirely

Shipping prices are going up in four weeks (by 5%, so not a lot). Get your orders in quick! Safe a few cents! ;)

There are two reasons I don't suggest the CF option at the moment:

1. It was an option originally because it definitely made the rails component stiffer, and less prone to flex. But since the rails are now longer and the middle screws are effectively required, the flex is less of an issue when using normal filaments.

2. It turns out that carbon fibre may not be super good for you, and out of an abundance of caution I think it should probably be avoided going forward. That said, I'm not worried about the previously shipped items because this is a product with very little user contact. Once installed, you'll basically never touch it again.

So the old ones are fine, but there's no real benefit to using it now, and it might be better to not use it at all, so I'll lean towards the safer option. If anyone still wants the CF option I will cheerfully sell it. I ain't your supervisor. ;)

If anyone wants to replace their old CF items I'm happy to discuss a reduced price replacement.
